Bronwyn Lawton
Bronwyn Lawton began here
political career in Portage La Prairie at the age of
14. She started as the rural representative
for the MYL and
continued on to hold such positions as Vice
President of the Portage La Prairie Liberal club and
Urban
Director
for the MYL.
Currently, she once again
holds the position
of MYL President,
as well as President for the provincial constituency
of Fort Garry. In her leisure time Bronwyn
enjoys, antique shopping, movies, reading,
travelling and volunteering at the Manitoba
Children’s Museum. Bronwyn currently lives in
Winnipeg and studies at the University of Manitoba. |

Amy Nikkel - Vice-President
Amy Nikkel was born in Lundar,
Manitoba, and now resides in Winnipeg. She has
been Vice President of the MYL for 3 years.
Amy is
studying Microbiology at the University of
Winnipeg. |

John Paul - Director of Finance
John Paul has been involved on
the executive of the Young Liberals in Manitoba for
several years (both provincially and federally). He
is currently entering his 5th year of a B.Comm(Hons) at
the Asper School of Business (University of
Manitoba), with a double major in marketing
and human resources. |

Director of Urban Affairs
– Jeremiah K.
Jeremiah, who is completing high school has been
obsessed with politics for as long as he can
remember. He is involved not only in the Provicial
Liberal Party but also the Federal one as well.
Jeremiah wants to go on to study Political Sciences,
Economics, Philosophy and International Law in
university before going on to a life in politics. |

Communications - Jennifer Forest
Jennifer is a second year student at the
University of Winnipeg pursuing a degree in Politics
and Conflict Resolution Studies. In the future
Jennifer aspires to achieve her masters degree in
public administration. In the meantime
Jennifer believes in getting involved and giving
back to the community. |

Rural Affairs-Northern-Jerad
Haggarty
Jared, who is currently
completing high school in Flin Flon, has had an obsession for politics since the
third grade. He likes to study
history of all sorts, especially WWII. Jared has done a
lot of volunteer work for his
community and likes to spend
his spare time curling,
golfing and being
outdoors. In the future,
he would like to study Political Science,
International Studies and Conflict
Resolution.

Jon
Baker - Policy Advisor
Jon originally hails from Brandon, where he
obtained his B.A. (Hons) from Brandon University,
with a major n Political Science and Minors in
Economics and History. He grew up on a farm and is
an artillery officer in the army reserve. He is now
beginning his M.A. in International Affairs at
Carleton University, but still comes back to
Manitoba often enough to lead discussions and draft
policies on the issues that are pressing in this
province |

Albert Novikov -
Former President
Originally from Uzbekistan,
Al joined the MYL in the spring of 2005 as
Communications Director, but served the remainder of
his term as MYL President. Al spearheaded many
initiatives during his tenure, including the
creation of this MYL website. Currently Al is
beginning a M.A. in Political Science at the
University of Manitoba, having recently graduated
with his undergraduate degree from the University of
Winnipeg. |
